I trained at Southport School of Art (Foundation) and Liverpool School of Art (Degree) during which time I was awarded the David Murray Landscape Painting Scholarship from the Royal Academy. When I left college I became a member of the Bridewell Studios in Liverpool. I moved on to addresses and studios as far afield as north of Inverness (Lossiemouth) and North Wales (Llanberis), finally returning to Liverpool and then the Midlands.
I am a professional artist and until recently worked, tutored and exhibited in my studio at Curborough Craft Centre, Lichfield. I am now semi retired (but therefore painting all the more) and work from my studio at home in Derby, and at Derby Sketching Club.
I paint in many styles and many different subjects and all of my work is in oils.
I have exhibited widely throughout the British Isles and been a member of many arts societies, St Ives Arts Club, Lichfield Society of Artists, Derby Sketching Club and the RBSA to name but a few.
I have successfully completed many commissions and particularly enjoy portraits. To view further works see StudioValentine on Instagram and my website www.studiovalentine.co.uk. Finally on a more personal note I am married with 2 children and 3 step children.
