Roger Bailey
When I first started painting, as is the case for many artists, I spent considerable time experimenting with different media and styles in the search for that ‘special style’ that suited my temperament. Once I’d discovered pastels, I knew that particular quest was over and I need search no more.
Nowadays, I mostly paint animals, and I strive to attain as much realism as I can. When painting fur, this is usually achieved by applying many layers to a deep-toothed paper. This technique can be quite time-consuming, and it may take several days to produce a painting. I find the process very satisfying and immensely enjoyable, and I hope you also gain some enjoyment from viewing the paintings.
