Stephanie Haywood

I live in the Heart of the National Forest in the centre of England, born and bred in the region. I have always loved painting and sketching. My influences growing up were Albrect Durer, Arthur Rackham, John Bauer and the Pre-Raphaelites to name but a few. I achieved a Batchelor of Arts degree a million years ago in graphic design ad illustration at the then City of Birmingham Polytechnic College of Art (now Birmingham City University), but my working career was not art based, although I was able to use my creative flair in many aspects of my job. In 2022 I retired (for the time being anyway) and now enjoy exploring my creative side in earnest. I live in a beautiful hamlet in South Derbyshire in an Edwardian brick semi with the quirks of an old mining community. The garden was full of dilapidated sheds when I moved in but I needed a work space so ‘created’ my studio overlooking my secluded garden and can potter in there with everything to hand. I also love painting landscapes for exhibition and illustrating peoples nearest and dearest humans and pets. You can see more of those on my Instagram (@stephhaywoodart @steph_haywood_pet_portraits ) and Facebook (Steph Haywood Art & Illustration) pages. I hope you like my work.
