Vandy Massey

Vandy Massey is an award-winning Cambridge artist who currently works predominantly in water-based media.
Her work has evolved through a process of continual experimentation with style and new media. Initially, her medium of choice was watercolour and while she is still fascinated by the freedom and flow of that medium, she now incorporates other media in her work for emphasis and atmosphere.
Vandy loves paintings that reveals the artist’s hand through the mark-making. Every artist has their own unique mark-making language. Expressive brushstrokes and a range of other tools used to apply paint to the surface, give her work a sense of the energy she wishes to convey.

The studio is filled with works in progress. Vandy often works on more than one piece at the same time. This enables her to step back and consider where a piece is going before coming back to it for the next stage of work. Her paintings have been selected for the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists Open exhibitions and the Society of Women Artists.

Vandy’s work is included in private collections in Australia, New Zealand, France, Portugal, Italy, South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kindom and the United States.
