How to Buy online – terms and conditions

These instructions and terms of sale only apply to online purchases.
We offer customised options for delivery of your pieces so we’ll need to talk to you about this. Here are the four simple steps to complete your order.

1 Contact

Email arts@damecatherines.org or complete the enquiry form on each page of art. You’ll need the item number which is a number in brackets next to each piece’s title (#1234).
 

2 Discuss

We’ll call or email you to discuss your choices and delivery options. These are

  • collection by you from our base in Ticknall, South Derbyshire
  • collection from the artist
  • delivery to your home by us or the artist
  • delivery by post/courier

 

3 Confirm

We’ll discuss your preferences with the artist, and decide delivery costs (if any).
 

4 Purchase

We’ll contact you again to confirm your order and delivery options (sent by email) and, if you’re happy, complete the purchase.

Peace of mind guarantee for distance selling

You’ll have 14 days to return the item for any reason at your own expense. You must contact us to arrange a return. We will not accept any pieces that have not been authorised for return and you will not receive a refund.

Terms and Conditions

These are the terms and conditions of a sale. By purchasing a work you agree to these conditions so please read them carefully and ask a question if you are not sure.

How to Buy

If you are interested in purchasing a piece of artwork from our online Summer Exhibition please complete the enquiry form on the website for each piece of art you are interested in with the artist’s name and the title and reference number for the piece you would like to buy.

All prices exclude postage unless otherwise stated and once we have received your enquiry we will discuss arrangements for delivery that best suit you and the artist. Options include

  • collection by you from our base in Ticknall, South Derbyshire
  • collection from the artist
  • delivery to your home by us or the artist
  • delivery by post/courier

We will discuss the options and the associated costs, or any other questions you have, with you over the phone or via email. We aim to complete your purchase as quickly as possible, but it might take a short time to complete negotiations depending on the availability of the artist to discuss your options. Please be patient while we process your order.

Payment

Once delivery method and any costs have been agreed you will receive an email confirmation advising you of the details and total amount of the sale. You must check this carefully for errors or omissions and tell us when we call to process your payment as this email is our agreement of sale.

There will be a link in the email to pay by credit card. Click this link and you’ll be taken to our payment screen where you can complete the payment. If you have a problem with this please contact us. We accept payment by most major bank cards but regret we are unable to process cash or cheque payments.

Delivery

Once payment has been received, we aim to get the work out to you as quickly as possible and you should be sent within 5 working days but please bear with us if things take a little longer in these difficult times.

General terms and conditions

  • Colour – Although we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of images on our website we cannot guarantee that the colours and appearance of artwork will be identical to the original.
  • Dimensions given are approximate image sizes, height x width in cm.
  • Availability of the artworks displayed on our site is not guaranteed.
  • Framing is included in the price where stated.
  • VAT where applicable is included in all prices. Overseas purchasers are responsible for any local customs, duties and taxes required.
  • Copyright rights to the image remain with the artist or the estate of the artist. The purchase of an artwork does not confer the right or licence to use the image for commercial or any other purposes.
  • Risk in the goods passes on collection or on delivery of the goods to the address stated in your order.
  • Title to the goods will pass to you only when full payment has been made for them.

Privacy policy

We conform to the Data Protection Act. Your details are stored and processed only for the purpose of fulfilling your enquiry and will not be shared with any third party unless required to for the purposes of completing your purchase or for the investigation of fraud or damage. By submitting your email address you give permission for us to use Mailchimp to collect and process your personal information in accordance with their Privacy Policy. Please let us know by emailing arts@damecatherines.org if you would prefer not to be added to our mailing list and receive notifications about forthcoming events.

Returns

In line with online and distance selling laws, we give 14 days no quibble home approval on items purchased through our website. If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you may return it to for a full refund (excluding shipping costs) on the following conditions:

  • You must contact us advising us of its return within 14 days of your order’s arrival with you either by e-mail (arts@damecatherines.org) or phone.
  • We will not accept returns without authorisation, and you will not receive a refund if you return without authorisation.
  • Artwork must be returned in its original packing and undamaged.
  • We will confirm the delivery address when we contact you as it may need to be returned directly to the artist.
  • It must be received by us, or the artist, within 14 days of the artwork’s arrival with you.
  • You must return it with adequate packaging,  insurance, and a tracking number which you must provide to us as part of the return process.
  • Provided the above conditions have been met, we will arrange for a full refund of the costs of the artwork to you.
  • You will not be refunded the delivery costs and you must pay for shipping.
  • Refund will not be made until the work has been returned undamaged to us.
  • In the event of damage you must make a claim against the insurance for the cost of the piece. We may return some or none of your payment to cover the cost of damage in the event the insurance is inadequate or doesn’t pay.

Commissions

If you like the work of a particular artist but it’s already sold, or would like to commission a piece, please contact us so that we can discuss your requirements with the artist direct.
