The Dame Catherine Harpur Art Show was originally set up as a fundraiser to help support the village school, Dame Catherine Harpur. The Art Show continues to generate a key source of income for a range of projects at the school.
During the August Bank Holiday weekend, the school and village hall next door are transformed into a fully featured art gallery, with artists coming from all over the country to exhibit.
Since 1993 the exhibition has been run by a dedicated team of parents, ex-parents, friends and volunteers. With over 1000 pieces of art on show and sales of over £21,000 in 2017, this really is a unique event in a truly delightful setting.
There is a free children's festival with lots of arts and craft activities throughout the weekend. Kids have free entry and are welcome to join in with the activities.
A cafe serving delicious cakes, light lunches and beverages is on site.
