Caroline Mcfarlane

I live and work in West Hallam, Derbyshire. I work using pastels and oils
with occasional dabblings in watercolour, line and wash and lino print. My
subject matter encompasses portraits, figurative composition, landscape
and still life. Carefully observed drawing underpins all my work.

I aim to create something that, whilst representative, will also give aesthetic
pleasure and echoes of quiet places, through carefully planned balance in
composition, tone and colour.

I have exhibited in London, Derby, Birmingham, Chester, Sheffield,
Macclesfield, Buxton, Cromford and Nottingham, (including Patchings) and
have received a number of awards for my work.
